Slavica Malinović-Milićević
Principal Research Fellow
Slavica Malinović-Milićević is a Principal Research Fellow at the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, working within the Department of Physical Geography. Her primary research focus lies in climatology and environmental sciences.
Her expertise encompasses ultraviolet (UV) radiation, air quality and pollution, bioclimatology, and climate change. Her research focuses on UV radiation modeling, bioclimatic indices, atmospheric pollutants, climate variability and change, and extreme weather conditions, with particular emphasis on assessing human exposure to UV radiation, pollutants, and thermal stress.
Methodologically, she applies modern statistical and spatial methods, as well as numerical modeling, to deepen understanding of contemporary climate processes, interactions between the atmosphere and living organisms, and climate change adaptation.
Her most significant scientific contributions include modeling and reconstructing long-term UV radiation series, applying bioclimatic indices, and studying air pollution, as well as exploring the use of chaos theory tools for time-series analysis and the impact of solar activity on atmospheric processes.
Fields of research: atmospheric radiation, bioclimatology, air quality.
