Jovana Brankov

Senior Research Associate

Jovana Brankov is a Senior Research Associate at the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Department of Social Geography, where her research centers on tourism and cultural geography. Her expertise includes sustainable and ecological tourism, the impact of tourism on local communities, and intangible cultural heritage. Her research primarily focuses on protected natural areas and traditional sports and games. She employs both quantitative and qualitative statistical methods, complemented by comparative, analytical, empirical, and case-study approaches, to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the phenomena and processes under study. Her most significant scientific contributions lie in assessing the impact of tourism on protected natural areas and national parks, as well as in the study and valorization of traditional sports and games as elements of intangible cultural heritage.
