Ana Milanović Pešić

Senior Research Associate

Ana Milanović Pešić is a Senior Research Associate at the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" SASA, in the Department of Physical Geography. She specializes in physical geography and conducts research in various aspects of this field. Her areas of expertise include hydrology, natural disasters, and the sustainable use of natural resources. She focuses on water resources management and the challenges associated with it, with a particular emphasis on the spatiotemporal analysis of water resources, developing models to forecast and mitigate flood risks, hydroecological monitoring and water-quality assessment, and an integrated approach to water protection and sustainable development. In her scientific-research work, she employs a range of methodologies, including analytical-synthetic, quantitative, qualitative, comparative, and spatial methods. This interdisciplinary approach allows her to study contemporary processes related to water resources, climate, and sustainable development. Some of her most significant scientific contributions include researching the hydrological regime of surface water, assessing the risk of natural disasters, modeling water quality based on indices, and enhancing geographical education regarding natural disasters. Her research fields encompass hydrology, natural disasters, sustainable use of natural resources.
