Ana M. Petrović

Senior Research Associate

Ana M. Petrović is a Senior Research Associate at the Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA), within the Department of Physical Geography, where she conducts research in the field of hydrology. Her expertise encompasses hydrological extremes. Her research focuses on the phenomenon of torrential floods in hilly and mountainous catchments, with particular emphasis on their spatial and temporal characterization, reconstruction of past torrential floods, and the influence of anthropogenic factors, including hydrological modelling, assessment of sediment transport, and soil erosion within torrential catchments. In her research, she applies quantitative, statistical, and spatial methods to obtain a deeper understanding of contemporary hydrological processes and phenomena. Her most significant scientific contributions are in the field of hydrology of streams in hilly and mountainous areas. Research Areas: Hydrological extremes, torrential floods, soil erosion
