International workshop “Regional Competitiveness” (2017)

On 03.16.2017. Prof. Darko Vukovic participated as a keynote speaker at the international workshop “Regional Competitiveness”, organized by the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Yekaterinburg. The event was organized in memory of Academician Alexander Ivanovich Tatarkinа and оn that occasion Prof. Vuković received Letter of Appreciation from Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” SASA participated in the ceremony Day of the Public Company Djerdap National Park that took place on 7th June in Donji Milanovac. On that occasion, it was organized the promotion of their new publications, including Lexicon of the Djerdap National Park and Caves in the Djerdap National Park. Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SASA participated in these publication publishing.

On the occasion of 69 years since the Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijić” Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences has been established, on 27.05.2016, academician Vojislav Stanovčić, Chairman of the Managing Board (2010-2016) and member of the Scientific Council (2010-2016) was awarded a special appreciation for а successful cooperation and provided support to the Institute activities. The award was handed to him by Dr Milan Radovanović, director of the Institute.

Researchers’ Night (2014)

Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SASA participated in the event “Researchers’ Night”, held on 26th of September 2014., in Shopping Center “Usce”, in Belgrade, Serbia (17:00 – 22:00). Theme of the interactive setting was “How can the youngest fall in love with geography”. The presentation was made thanks to the technical support of “BCS Professional” Ltd., Belgrade.

Festival of Science (2015)

Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SASA participated in the eight annual Festival of science, with an interactive exibition “Catch the wind”, presenting in a new and interesting way the source and effects of winds, that enabled visitors to get to know and feel the magic of geography.

Prof. Dr Slobodan Marković, corresponding member of SASA

It is our honour to inform you that Prof. Dr Slobodan Marković, bacame the corresponding member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. On 7th of November 2015, prof Markovic was promoted into the corresponding member of SASA, becoming with 45 years of age, the younges academician and at the moment the only living member of the Academy engaged in the field of Geography.

Researchers’ Night (2015)

Geographical Institute “Jovan Cvijic” SASA participated at the event “Researchers’ Night”, which was held in Delta City shopping center, Belgrade, Serbia. Interactive setting named “Circulate, circulate and make a circle”, was made thanks to the technical support of “BCS Professional Ltd.” and researchers Jasna Stojanović, Stefan Denda, Gorica Stanojević, Aleksandra Spalević, Vlasta Kokotović and Jelena Ćalić, who, in the atrium of Delta City, talked with children about the water cycle in nature.
